The O.K.K. is an obscure reference to a Chinese Christian, the Sultan of Brunei and somebody’s daughter – we’ve seen some interesting labels in our time but must admit that this one is the most intriguing. Perhaps the answer lies near the bottom of the bottle!
Crimson, brick red colour with mauve crimson hue. Medium body. The nose is very impressive, with strong varietal character, spice, hint of stalk cloves and black cherry. The palate does not deliver, there is a salty soy sauce quality at the front of the palate that is hard to come to terms with. Perhaps it was just an odd bottle, but none the less the characteristics in this bottle were very evident. Stewed cherry and spice back palate flavours which run into the aftertaste.
