2002 Cave De Beblenheim Particuliere Riesling
Bright straw colour with pale straw hue. Delicate floral top note of confectionary and spice, with a touch of boiled lolly. The palate has lost its vibrancy, with a developed flavour profile emerging. There are nuances of toast, confectionary and boiled lolly flavours on the palate, followed by a subtle citrus back palate. The acidity is soft and it would appear that the wine has past its youthful peak. Will old age confer a more appealing flavour profile? – We think not!

First tasted, March 2004:
A lighter style Alsatian Riesling. Bright straw colour. On the nose there isa hint of talc and mineral followed by a floral, lime and confectionary endnote. Delicate citrus palate flavour, with confectionary and lime in thebackground. Soft acid finish. Confectionary, lime aftertaste.
