2002 Cape Mentelle Chardonnay

A refined Chardonnay, showing restraint in its use of oak whilst utilising its complexing contribution. Brilliant straw colour. Aroma of hazelnut, biscuit and yeast lees, showing good barrel ferment character. The palate displays the influence of spice and oak with layers of toast, cashew, yeast lees and biscuit. The palate has a creamy texture with very good palate weight. Flavours of citrus, cashew and hazelnut emerge, showing complexity. Aftertaste of spice, cashew and hazelnut.
