2002 Balgownie Estate Shiraz

An outstanding Balgownie Shiraz. Fantastic black purple colour - a saturation of black and purple! The top note of the nose is smoky oak, blackberry, black pepper and liquorice with a hint of white pepper as an endnote. The palate is as impressive as the nose, showing excellent weight and mouth feel. Powerful flavours of plum, liquorice and spice are overlaid with a white pepper back palate and fine dry chalky tannins. Excellent length and depth. Very long aftertaste of spice, plum, liquorice and blackberry.
