Six foot six refers to the height of escaped convict William Buckley, who was deported to Australia for allegedly dealing in stolen cloth, a crime he maintained he never committed. Having arrived at the penal colony on the Mornington Peninsula, he and a few mates were determined to escape. Some were shot, others returned after a few days in the bush and faced the lashings from prison guards. Buckley continued on and finally found himself in the Geelong district from where he lived with local Aborigines for 32 years – a remarkable piece of Australian History for anyone wishing to pursue it.

Translucent mauve colour with mauve hue. The nose shows good varietal character with notes of strawberry jam, cherry and spice emerging. On the palate, flavours of cherry and spice emerge, followed by a hint of strawberry. Moderate length. Aftertaste of cherry, spice and strawberry.
