2002 appears to be a very good vintage for Petit Verdot in South Australia. Opaque black purple colour with purple hue – fantastic colour. The palate delivers strong liquorice flavours followed by a strong blackpepper back palate. Very persistent, dry tannins.

First tasted: June 2004
The wine displays excellent colour. Deep crimson purple colour with purple hue and black heart. On the nose, aroma of stewed plum, spice, liquorice allsorts and violets emerge. The palate flavour profile is relatively light with plum and spice flavours emerging, followed by a hint of liquorice and chocolate. Fine dry, dusty tannins linger long into the aftertaste.
