Another impressive red from Annvers, which has been matured for 12 months in American oak. Opaque black crimson colour with deep crimson hue. The nose displays distinct varietal character with notes of vanilla, plum, spice and blackberry emerging. Mouthfilling palate, with the unmistakable ‘joosy’ McLaren Vale fruit quality. Flavours of plum, spice, vanilla and liquorice allsorts appear. Fine grained, velvet smooth tannins. Aftertaste of plum, spice, vanilla and liquorice allsorts.

First tasted, May 2005:
Opaque black crimson colour with deep mauve crimson hue. Perfumed nose of violets, spice, truffle, vanilla, dark chocolate and blackberry. The palate has good weight, with white and black pepper flavours, meshed with vanilla, liquorice, toasted oak and spice. Fine grained dryish tannins. Aftertaste of plum stewed fruit, vanilla and spice.
