2002 Albert Morot Beaune Marconnets 1 er Cru

This wine delivers excellent deep crimson colour with deep crimson mauve hue. Medium body. The nose reveals a hint of game followed by spice and cherry showing distinct Pinot varietal character. Excellent palate weight, with moderate power wave. It may sound like a backhanded compliment, but this wine has strong parallels to the new wave of New Zealand Pinot Noir. Very spicy back palate flavours, with cherry, plum and spice persisting and just a touch of liquorice emerging. Velvet tannins.
