2001 Yarra Yering Young Vines Cabernet Sauvignon

A big disappointment – a wine that should never have been released under the Yarra Yering label – having none of the concentration that the vineyard’s reputation has been built on.
Brick red colour with brick red hue. Relatively light weight for Cabernet, even young vines – Delicate nose of spice, confectionary and cedar. The palate flavours are light – lacking power and concentration. Subtle flavours of confectionary, spice, cedar and stewed fruit. Firmish dry tannins. Confectionary, stewed fruit aftertaste.
