Tasting note: [20ml sample] Fully matured in a Sherry cask. Old gold. Some struck match, snuffed candle and old drains make for a sulphur-led opening sniff (Jim Murray will hate this!) Five minutes air contact draws out dried fruits and attractive nuttiness along with hints of ginger snaps and burnt sponge cake… later still, stewed fruitiness and light beeswax. Flavour wise, a bit disjointed and low definition. Spikes of heat and lots of spice through the malty/nutty interplay. 50% Alc./vol.
