2001 Watershed Shiraz

Watershed may not be a household name in the Australian Wine industry, however, no doubt that will soon change. The vineyard is located approximately five kilometres South of Margaret River within that magic dress circle between Leeuwin and Voyager Estates. This excellent wine has been made by master winemaker JOHN WADE, formerly of Howard Park fame.

Tasting Notes: The wine was matured in a combination of French and American oak for a period of 14 months. Opaque purple black colour with purple mauve hue. The nose is impressive with lifted top note of cedar followed by cherry, blackberry, spice and just a touch of earth. The palate is very spicy with distinct white pepper flavours which carry through to the aftertaste – flavours of plum, spice and liquorice are meshed with fine grained tannins. Aftertaste of white pepper, spice and plum.
