2001 Water Wheel Chardonnay

Peter Cumming manages to pack lots of very ripe fruit flavours into this wine which are counter-pointed by spicy cinnamon oak. Bright, pale gold colour. The nose displays generous ripe fruit notes of tropical fruit, peach and spice, followed by cinnamon oak notes. Mouthfilling palate, with flavours of peach, melon, spice and cinnamon dominant. Clean acid finish, followed by aftertaste of spice and cinnamon. The wine needs a few more months bottle age to integrate fully. Cellar 2 – 3 years. (2003 – 2004)
