The Spring Vale vineyard is situated on the east coast of Tasmania near Coles Bay and is planted to Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Gewurztraminer and Pinot Gris. The 2001 Gewurztraminer is a very refined style with all the characteristics of the variety but none of the exuberance that is possible to achieve. Having said that, let us say that this is a wine of great style and delicacy. Bright pale straw colour. Subtle aroma of lychee, pear, spice and tropical fruit. On the palate, the creamy texture is entwined by flavours of lychee, spice, loquot and ripe peach, with the spice re-emerging on the back palate. Perfect balance with finesse and perfect levels of acidity. Long aftertaste of ripe peach, loquot and spice. Cellar 1 - 2 years. (2002 - 2003)

A very subtle Gewurztraminer. Bright straw colour. The nose displays a hint of lychee and spice over a restrained floral background. On the palate, there is a hint of sweetness. The flavours are light, with subtle lychee and floral qualities persisting. Soft acid finish.
