The fuller richer style of Vermentino di Gallura from Capichera was created in 1996.
Grape Varieties: 100% Vermentino (also known in France as Malvoisie Gros Grain)
Region: The vineyard is situated on the southern side of the Monte Limbara hills in Gallura on the island of Sardegna.
Vinification: The grapes are hand harvested and immediately undergo a soft crushing to encourage varietal typicity. A brief period of cold maceration occurs before further pressing with a pneumatic press. The clarified must is then fermented slowly at 15°C
Characteristics: Pale bright straw yellow with lemony highlights. The aroma is delicately floral with aromas of apple being most prominent. The palate is warm and soft preceded by a robust, complex varietal structure. It has well balanced acidity leading to an attractive fresh finish.
Serve: chilled to approximately 12 - 14°C
Try With: Perfect with seafood but also able to cope with stronger flavoured dishes due to it’s prominent acidity.
