2001 Picardy Chardonnay

Four Burgundian clones of Chardonnay are used to produce this wine. Bright, pale straw colour. The wine displays very good complexity in the nose. Aroma of biscuit, yeast lees and hazelnut, followed by a champagne base like characteristic, yeast autolysis end note. The palate structure is quite French with grapefruit and lees emerging. Crisp acid finish followed by a yeast lees, grapefruit aftertaste.
Cellar 2-3 years. (2004-2005)
