The Stonewell Shiraz is Peter Lehmann’s flagship wine with fruit being sourced from low-yielding vineyards in the drier western areas of the BarossaValley, some of which are more than 100 years old. The wine was matured for 18 months in a combination of new French (83%) and American (17%) oak hogsheads and then received a further 4 years bottle age before release.

A sophisticated, layered Stonewell.

Very deep crimson colour with deep crimson hue – the colour saturation is holding up well.  Superb, perfumed nose with aromas of vanilla, spice, liquorice, plum and cedar followed by confectionary and chocolate.  The palate is refined.  Flavours of vanilla, dark chocolate, plum and spice create a wonderful set of flavour layers.  Fine grained, dryish tannins.  Very long aftertaste of spice, liquorice, vanilla and blackberry.

Alc/Vol: 14.5%
