2001 Peter Lehmann Barossa Shiraz

Barossa Valley, South Australia, AUSTRALIA
$15. 99

$191.88 Dozen
Closure: Cork

This wine is made to be enjoyed, displaying the typical ripe fruit flavours that have become this wines hallmark. The palate does not have the same voluptuous body weight that has been evident in say the 96 or 98 wines, but none the less there is more than sufficient flavour. Very deep crimson colour, with deep mauve crimson hue. The nose is impressive with lifted aromas of spice and blackberry followed by a layer of plum and black pepper. The palate is perfectly balanced with distinct flavours of plum, spice, liquorice and black pepper. Very good length, followed by a distinct black pepper power wave, that seems to be typical of so many 2001 Shiraz wines. Velvet smooth tannins, followed by liquorice, plum and black pepper aftertaste.
Cellar 2-3 years (2004-2005).
Alc/Vol 14%
