Totally opaque black dark red colour with deep dark brick red hue. Lifted aromas of ripe dark plums, dark chocolate, liquorice and confectionary delivering excellent intensity. Full bodied and opulent the palate is filled with generous ripe fruit flavours of blackberry, liquorice, dark chocolate, confectionary, vanilla and spice with a touch of leather emerging on the back palate. Very mouthfilling, the tannins are perfectly integrated providing the wine with a velvet like texture. Excellent length with long aftertaste of liquorice, blackberry, dark plum and confectionary.
Still displaying plenty of generosity and richness this Shiraz is superb drinking now.
Alc 15.5%

First Tasted: 30/06/2003
A near perfect expression of the vintage.Totally opaque black crimson colour with almost paint like cling to the glass. Superb nose with lifted aroma of confectionary, liquorice, spice and violets - an excellent sniff. The palate is mouthfilling and has that generosity and voluptuous flavour of the 1998. The blackpepper characteristics explode on the back palate, and are supported by very fine grained tannins and a very long plum, blackpepper and spice aftertaste.
Cellar 8-10 years (2011-2013)
