2001 Penfolds Bin 128 Coonawarra Shiraz

Unlike most of the other Penfolds Bin range wines this is not a multi regional blend being sourced entirely from Coonawarra. Matured for 12 months in new (21%) and older French oak hogsheads.
The tightest of the current release Penfolds reds. Very deep black crimson colour with deep crimson hue. Aroma of spice, blackberry, violets and vanilla. Flavours of vanilla, stewed plum and spice followed by firm dry tannins which persist long into the aftertaste. Aftertaste of stewed plum and liquorice allsorts.
Cellar 4-5 years (2007-2008)
