The Clare Valley region incorporates four main river districts and stretches for approximately 35 kilometres in width. Within the valley are five sub-regions which include Clare, Sevenhill, Watervale, Polish Hill & Auburn. Neil & Alison Paulett established their 8.3 hectare vineyard in 1983 and have quickly gained a reputation for producing outstanding Shiraz & Riesling. This is a very impressive Shiraz. Deep black crimson colour with crimson hue. Superb nose of violets, with lifted top notes of plum, blackberry, toasted oak and liquorice. The palate has excellent weight, with flavours of spice, plum and liquorice allsorts, over a back palate of vanilla oak. Fine grained, soft tannins, followed by a long aftertaste of plum, violets confectionary and vanilla.
Cellar: 3-4 years (2007-2008)
