2001 Orlando Gramps Barossa Shiraz

An excellent Shiraz from Gramps - big, rich & full bodied representing outstanding value. The wine was matured in a combination of new and old French and American oak hogsheads for fourteen to eighteen months. Opaque black crimson colour with deep crimson hue. Lifted nose of spice, plum, blackberry and liquorice. The palate flavours are generous with ripe plum and blackpepper dominant followed by back palate flavours of liquorice and vanilla. Fine dry tannins, excellent length and balance followed by a very long spicy aftertaste.
