2001 Lord Malmsbury Classic Red

This wine is composed of a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Merlot, Malbec and Cabernet Franc. With all this Cabernet component, one would expect this wine to be holding up, however at 5 years of age it is past it’s peak.

Brick red, sienna brown colour, showing considerable bottle age. Aroma of leather and spice followed by a stewed fruit end note. The palate is drying out, with the fruit component fading. Flavours of leather and cedar emerge. Soft tannins. Leather, cedar aftertaste.
