2001 Kilikanoon Covenant Shiraz

The fruit for the 2001 Kilikanoon Convenant Shiraz was sourced from low yielding vines from selected premium vineyards in the Clare Valley ranging from 30-40 years old. The wine was matured for a period of 22 months in small Amercian and French oak hogsheads.

An excellent example of Clare Valley Shiraz. Opaque crimson colour with crimson hue. Superb nose of violet, vanilla, blackberry and plum followed by a liquorice end note. The palate is mouthfilling with concentrated blackpepper flavour overlaid with spice and plum. Excellent weight and length. Fine grained tannins, perfectly balanced followed by a very long aftertaste of plum, spice and blackpepper.
