Many ‘old timers’ will fondly remember Stevens Cambrai Wines of McLaren Vale, which were first planted out in 1975. Like most businesses, the original founders eventually wish to retire and sell on to the next generation of winemakers. Kevin & Helen O’Brien purchased the property in 1997 and named the ‘new’ venture after the road that it is located in. Their wines have been consistently impressive. The colour of this wine is outstanding and reflects the flavour profile that is to follow. Opaque black purple crimson. The nose is almost perfumed with aroma of vanilla, confectionary, plum and spice. Mouth filling palate flavours of liquorice, blackberry, plum and spice. Velvet smooth tannins, excellent length and persistence, with a long aftertaste of liquorice and plum.
