2001 Kaesler Old Vine Shiraz

A wine with excellent structure. The vines were planted in 1961 making them 40 years old at the time of harvest. Totally opaque, black purple colour. Superb complex nose with layers of mocca, blackberry, spice and violets followed by end notes of ripe plum – a delightful perfumed sniff. The palate has weight and is loaded with flavour. Dark chocolate, mocca, plum and blackberry flavours are evident. Fine dry tannins with plum and spice flavours persisting on the back palate, and lingering long into the aftertaste.
