Le Corbusier (the Crow) was one of the worlds most important 20th Century Architects. His real name was Jeanneret, but decided to go with the more flamboyant title. Now what has all this to do with the Riesling you might ask? We’re not exactly sure ourselves, except that as a part of the logo, the Golden Rectangle is used – this is an ancient set of proportions which were used by Greek architects as well as le Corbusier who popularised the notion as ‘Le modular’.
The wine is impressive. The fruit was grown by Jim Jones at Stanley Ridge and the Zwiersen Family at Artunga. Very pale straw colour, almost watery. Outstanding nose – perfumed with pronounced aroma of nutmeg, spice, orange blossom, rose petal, pear and lime. On the palate citrus and lime flavours dominate – excellent weight and balance, with crisp acid finish, followed by very long lemon lime aftertaste. Cellar 4-5 years.
