2001 Houghton Pemberton Chardonnay

An excellent full bodied Chardonnay. Bright straw colour. The nose is very distinctive with strong barrel ferment character, with aroma of fig, melon and yeast lees, followed by flavours of almonds, melon, fig, grapefruit and yeast lees. Outstanding length, crisp acidity, followed by a very long aftertaste of yeast lees and toasted oak.
