The Kraft Vineyard is owned by Val and Dennis Kraft and is situated at Tanunda in the Barossa Valley. Grant Burge has used only free run juice to make this wine as well as adding complexity by partial barrel fermentation.
Brilliant pale straw colour. Aroma of tropical fruit, passionfruit, and ripe gooseberries, over a subtle herbal background. On the palate flavours of guava, mango, tropical fruits and gooseberries – but all rather restrained. Clean acid finish, tropical fruit aftertaste – heading towards a Graves style. Cellar 1 – 2 years. (2002 – 2003)
Bright, straw colour. Grassy herbaceous nose, with a hint of tropical fruit, followed by ripe and unripe gooseberries and unripe lychee. On the palate, flavours of unripe pineapple and unripe gooseberries emerge over a layer of tropical fruit and just a hint of herbaceousness. Crisp acid finish, followed by a herbaceous, unripe tropical fruit aftertaste.
Cellar 1-2 years (2003-2004)
