First Tasted: September 2003
A woody style of Chardonnay – perhaps a touch too woody. The wine has been matured in French and American oak for 11 months. Deep straw colour with golden hue, showing bottle age. Aroma of butterscotch, spice and yeast lees followed by ripe peach and ripe pineapple. The palate has plenty of weight and is oak dominant. Flavours of cinnamon, spice, pineapple, tropical fruit and butterscotch override the subtle oak back palate. Very long oak and pineapple aftertaste.
