2001 Gordon & Macphail Connoisseurs Choice Caol Ila 12 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

From independent bottlers, Gordon & Macphail, this 12 year old bottling from the Caol Ila Distillery was distilled in 2001 and bottled in 2014 from a first fill Bourbon barrel.

Tasting note from Gordon & Macphail: 
AROMA WITHOUT WATER
Sweet cured meat aromas, with hints of green apple, pineapple and vanilla. Underlying hints of menthol and peat smoke develop.

TASTE WITHOUT WATER
The palate is sweet with cracked black pepper initially. Lemon, lime and ripe banana flavours combine with a lingering hint of bonfire embers.

AROMA WITH WATER
Hints of beeswax polish and vanilla initially. Menthol, lemon and lime aromas develop and compliment a subtle peat smoke note.

TASTE WITH WATER
Chilli spice with ripe fruit flavours, banana and pear. Becomes creamy with hints of milk chocolate and delicate peat smoke edge.
