The K1 vineyard block, located at Kuitpo in the Adelaide Hills grows outstanding fruit. Very deep crimson colour with deep crimson hue. Aroma of vanilla, liquorice allsorts, plum, spice and stewed fruit. The palate is generous, with excellent fine dry tannin structure. Flavours of spice, plum, liquorice, stewed fruit and blackberry are counter pointed by white pepper and cedar back palate flavours. Fine grained tannins. Very long white pepper aftertaste with fine grained tannins persisting.
Cellar 3-4 years (2007-2008)
Alc/Vol: 14.5%

First tasted, April 2003:
A powerful tightly structured wine. Opaque black colour. Very distinctive aroma of plum, stewed fruit and spice with confectionary and dark chocolate end notes. The palate is a concentrate of Shiraz flavour, but remains tightly knit. This is a top cellaring red. Flavours of stewed plum, spice, confectionary and dark chocolate emerge. Fine dry tannins in perfect harmony with the fruit, followed by a very long liquorice and mocca aftertaste.
