We have followed the evolution of this wine from cask and must admit there were a few sensational barrels which, alas, have not been seperated for a Reserve bottling, but rather incorporated into this final blend. This is no wimpy, ‘ribena’ cordial type Pinot. It has weight and concentration. Very deep crimson colour, showing excellent depth. The nose displays an array of notes in part due to the use of multiple fermentation techniques. Hints of stalk, spice, liquorice and strawberry. Mouthfilling palate with very good weight and substantial structure. Flavours of blackpepper and spice are layered over liquorice and strawberry with just a touch of stalk evident. Soft tannins followed by a very long spicy, stalk aftertaste.
Cellar 4-5 years. (2007-2008)
Alc./Vol. 14%
