2001 Fromm La Strada Pinot Noir

Another magnificent New Zealand Pinot! Outstanding colour for Pinot Noir. Deep crimson colour with mauve hue. Aroma of rhubarb, black cherry, spice and wild strawberries – a delightful sniff! The palate starts off a touch drier than say the 2002 Ata Rangi, going into a short dip revealing flavours of spice, black cherry, strawberry and spice, and just as one begins to feel a touch of disappointment, the second flavour wave emerges to reveal magnificent Pinot Noir power. Perfectly balanced with velvet smooth tannins which lead into an aftertaste that lasts for minutes.
