2001 Evans & Tate Margaret River Shiraz

Evans & Tate was established in 1971 with the first vineyard being Gnangara in the West Swan Valley. The pair were originally paint manufacturers. We first launched the 1975 Gnangara Shiraz on the East Coast of Australia in the late 70’s and ever since the company has continued to grow. Today Evans & Tate is a public company run by John Tate’s son, Franklin. This is an outstanding wine! Very deep black crimson colour with deep mauve purple hue. Perfumed nose with aroma of violets, vanilla, blackberry, plum and spice. The palate has excellent concentration and plenty of weight. Flavours of plum, spice, liquorice and vanilla emerge over a black pepper background. Excellent length, perfect balance, followed by a very long aftertaste of spice, black pepper and liquorice.
