A big Elderton Shiraz with all the hallmarks that make the wine so approachable. color> Produced from 40 year old vines and aged in French and American oak for between 12 and 18 months. Opaque black crimson colour, with black crimson hue. The nose displays that wonderful ripe Barossa Shiraz character, just filled with notes of liquorice, blackberry and plum with cedar and vanillin oak end notes. Mouthfilling palate flavours with ripe plum and liquorice flavours dominant, followed by layers of blackpepper, cedar and vanilla. Excellent weight and depth. Velvet smooth texture, followed by a very long aftertaste of vanilla, liquorice and plum. A classic voluptuous Barossa Shiraz from the great 2001 vintage.
