2001 Eaglehawk Chardonnay

100% Chardonnay fruit was sourced from a range of vineyard sites in the premium wine growing regions of South Eastern Australia. The grapes were machine harvested at night to ensure optimum freshness of fruit characters and condition.
Following crushing, a portion of the wine was fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks, and a portion in American oak. A small amount of the final blend underwent malo-lactic fermentation to add a creamy complexity to the wine.
The colour is mid straw with vibrant youthful notes. The aroma displays classic Chardonnay with peach and fig characters and subtle oak integration. The palate is medium weight with rich fruit flavours and supporting oak nuances. The finish is refreshing, crisp and dry. Drinking very well now.Alc/Vol: 10.9%
