2001 Douglas Laing & Co. Old Particular Single Cask Bowmore 15 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

Reportedly a crowd favourite at the 2018 Sydney Whisky Fair. Distilled December 2001 and bottled June 2017 from refill hogshead 11804 yielding just 321 bottles. Very limited stocks.

Tasting note: [20ml sample] Superbly fresh and maritime on the nose. A salty lift with lanolin, toasted muesli; air contact accenting barnyard earthiness. Wow – melts across the tongue - remarkably soft and creamy. A lively, seductive mix of brine and sweet malt, perfectly poised at the finish with hints of cut grass, dried mango and citrus zest bursting through the phenols. Beautiful Bowmore. 48.4% Alc./Vol. Non chill filtered.

Other reviews... relaxed sugars early with the peat carried on very late oils; traces of lychee at the mid point....slow spice build plus lovely cocoa...unspectacular but a really attractive and moreish shape to it.
