2001 Diamond Valley Vineyard White Label Chardonnay

This wine is showing its age, with the acidity falling away. The vineyard block consists of 2 acres of West facing vines, exposing the fruit to more warmth than normally experienced by Chardonnay growers. Bright gold colour with deep straw hue. The nose displays a developed quality with aroma of yeast lees, cashews and biscuit, followed by a hint of honey and toast. The palate fruit flavours are beginning to fade, with a distinct flor character evident. Warm spicy back palate. Aftertaste of yeast lees and cashew.
