2001 Curly Flat Chardonnay

The 1998 Curly Flat Chardonnay was an enormous success. The 2001 is more refined without the body weight of the 1998 yet retains the Chardonnay characteristics that make it a wonderful accompaniment for mud crab or other shell fish. For those who enjoy a white with Christmas dinner, the turkey is in great company. Bright pale gold colour showing signs of oxidative handling. The nose is intense, with top note of hazelnut followed by honeycombe and cashew with butterscotch and yeast lees end note. Excellent palate weight and mouthfeel with flavours of roast almond, toasted oak & yeast lees dominant. Creamy texture followed by a very long spice, cashew, biscuit and yeast lees aftertaste with the spicy characteristic persisting.Cellar 3-4 years (2006-2007)
