2001 Clarendon Hills Brookman Vineyard Syrah (Shiraz)

The Brookman vineyard Syrah was planted in 1925, on a Northwest slope, in gravel, ironstone and clay soil.

Tasting Note: Totally opaque black purple crimson colour. All the 2001 Clarendon Hills reds have stunningly beautiful colours with remarkable clinging and staining capacity. A wine of great finesse. Superb aroma of plum, blackberry and blackpepper followed by hints of earth and truffle. The classic Clarendon Hills concentrated flavours kick in early with a remarkable voluptuous quality. Richly textured palate, with flavours of liquorice, spice, blackberry and blackpepper. Perfect balance, fine grained tannins, followed by a very long aftertaste of blackberry, plum, truffle and earth.
Cellar 8-10 years (2010-2012).
