A very worthwhile tasting experience. This is a dry highly scented Italian grape variety which is grown in Piedmont, Northwest Italy. The variety has been used to soften Nebbiolo in a similar way that Viognier is used with Shiraz. In the 1970’s, the varietal almost disappeared, but managed to stage a relatively short lived revival in Italy, however its future remains precarious. The wine does not age well, losing its acidity after a couple of years.

Bright straw colour with golden hue. Lifted perfumed nose with notes of confectionary, spice, tea and ripe nectarine emerging. The palate is mouthfilling with exotic flavours of ripe pineapple, layered over by spice, nectarine, green tea and confectionary followed by a subtle almond back palate. Excellent length. Soft acid finish with very long aftertaste of nectarine, pineapple and tea.
