2001 Balthazar Barossa Shiraz

An outstanding wine with very limited availability. Produced from grapes grown in the Marananga sub-district of the Barossa Valley. Opaque, black purple colour. Aroma of violets, spice, blackberry and blackpepper followed by end notes of earth and confectionary. The palate is very spicy with white pepper, black pepper and plum flavours emerging. Fine grained tannins followed by a very long aftertaste of plum, blackpepper and spice.
Cellar 4-5 years. (2007-2008)
