2000 Penfolds Bin 128 Coonawarra Shiraz

A very well made Bin 128 with a palate weight that resembles the 1998 rather than the 1999 and as with the other reds from the 2000 release, showing plenty of ripe fruit flavour. Very deep crimson colour with mauve hue. Aroma of cedar, spice, blackberry and liquorice. The nose is quite perfumed. The palate displays the ripe fruit character of the nose, with flavours of spice, blackberry and cedar. Excellent length. Fine grained tannins, quite soft, again making the wine very approachable now or with medium term cellaring. Long aftertaste of cedar, liquorice and blackberry.
