This is the inaugural release of an Oliver’s Taranga Reserve wine. Carefully crafted from the very best parcels of old vine Shiraz, barrel selected and bottle aged – this wine was designed to be a testament to the memory of H.J. ‘Bert’ Oliver. Produced from 100% Shiraz and matured in 80% New French Oak, 20% New American Oak for a period of 24 months. This is a formidable wine and certainly one of the super stars of the 2000 vintage. In order to produce this wine, barrel and batch selection has taken place, ensuring a superlative result.

Opaque black crimson colour. Wonderful perfumed nose of violets, spice, cedar and blackcurrant. The palate explodes with sophisticated Shiraz flavours – beautifully integrated with oak. Flavours of cedar, spice, blackcurrant, violet infusions and blackberry fill the mouth. Perfect balance with a touch of earth emerging on the back palate. Very long aftertaste of ripe plum, cedar and spice.
