2000 Adelphi Aultmore 18 Year Old Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

A sherried Aultmore, distilled in 2000 and matured in refill sherry cask, bottled in the autumn of 2018 at natural cask strength of 55% ABV, non chill filtered. It's a single cask release of 480 bottles.

Described by Adelphi's Charles McLean as "One of our favourite makes", Aultmore is situated between Keith and the Moray Firth, quite a long way from Speyside proper, although it produces a typical Speyside malt, with a high reputation among blenders who rank it 'Top Class'. After a patchy history, Aultmore was sold to Bacardi subsidiary, Dewars, who offered the first ever official bottling in 2004 - so Aultmore of this ilk is not common. The house style has been described as "fragrant on the nose, substantial on the tongue." We find it typically light, spicy and fruity with most of the wood employed being American oak.
