1999 Yalumba The Menzies Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon (1500ml)

A Classic tightly structured Cabernet, which has spent 22 months in French and Allier oak. Very deep crimson brick red colour, with deep crimson brick red hue. Superb nose of dark chocolate, spice, mocca and cedar followed by a confectionary end note. The palate structure is tight, with elegance, finesse and character. This is not to say that this is a skinny wine but rather it relies on secondary flavour characteristics more than on primary fruit. Cedar and blackcurrant flavours emerge and are supported by very fine, very dry tannins. The aftertaste is very long, with cedar, aniseed and blackcurrant persisting.
