Wolf Blass is one of Australia’s most awarded premium wine makers, and one of the country’s most successful exporters. Since 1973, Wolf Blass wines have amassed more than 3000 medals and trophies at national and international wine shows. The Wolf Blass Red Label is a classic Australian style, suitable for all occasions.
Premium grape growing regions in South Eastern Australia provided the fruit for this wine. The fruit was picked at optimum ripeness ensuring total flavour development and complexity.
Following careful crushing, the juice and skins were transferred to stainless steel fermenting tanks. Traditional cap management techniques were used to enhance and retain the fruit characters. A combination of new and seasoned American oak hogsheads was utilised to complete fermentation and for further oak maturation.
The wine has a vivid dark red colour with an attractive bouquet of plums, subtle nuances of spice and a hint of dusty oak characters. A medium to full- bodied wine, it has excellent juicy plum characters in the mouth with just a hint of mint. The lingering soft tannins add to the structure of the wine without dominating. Cellar 3-5 years. Alcohol: 12.9%.
