1999 Voyager Estate Shiraz

Margaret River Shiraz has emerged as a major challenge to the supremacy of Cabernet in the district, with wine makers producing very distinct wines. Opaque crimson mauve colour, with purple hues – vibrant with youth. The nose has a distinct early ‘animal’ Rhone quality, over notes of liquorice, blackberry and confectionery. Excellent weight and mouthfeel with flavours of concentrated blood plum and blackberries over layers of vanilla, earth and spice. Fine grained tannin structure, perfect balance, followed by a very long aftertaste of liquorice, earth and truffle. Cellar 4-5 years.
