1999 Vasse Felix Chardonnay

A delightful Chardonnay made with precision, and with sufficient acidity to last 3-4 years. Bright straw colour. The nose displays some barrel ferment aromas of biscuit, butterscotch, toasted oak and yeast lees. The palate has a leanness to it that is supported by some fine citrus and grapefruit flavours and reinforced by strong acid finish. The vanillin cinnamon oak is pronounced but held in check. Excellent weight and mouthfeel - crisp acid finish, followed by long citrus, melon, vanilla, butterscotch aftertaste. Cellar 3-4 years.
