1999 Thorn Clarke Shotfire Ridge Shiraz

Master winemaker Jim Irvine is responsible for making this wine which accounts for its impressive quality. The wine has been matured for 5 months in American oak casks and 18 months in French.
Very deep crimson colour, with deep crimson hue. Superb nose - aroma filled with violets, spice and marzipan, followed by a hint of confectionary and liquorice. The palate is mouthfilling with flavours of spice, blackpepper and plum, over a strong vanilla cedar background. Fine grained tannins, perfect balance, followed by a very long aftertaste of vanilla, spice, liquorice and plum.
